#RUSTY LAKE HOTEL MUSHROOMS WINDOWS#
Only slivers of light escaping from curtainant window as a the radiant lighting from the banquet windows below casted a faint glow illuminating our pathway. As we exited the doorway to the outside, the steps down were slippery and pitch black. And just like that, the feeling of loathing returned. As the night came to a close, we said our good nights and retired back up the stairs toward our room. The staff here was joyful, and made our experience all that much more memorable. For the next few hours it was mesmerising, friends and family on both sides dined/drank, danced and sang and celebrated our new bonds of friendship. At no fault of the establishment, weather had caused a move inside. Another staff member announced to the room that the ceremonies would be starting soon and ushered us into the venue. A pleasant barkeep served up a well mixed cocktails, however at a relaxed pace. Returning to the lounge/lobby we can find a seat at the bar.
Enough about the room for now downstairs to the party we shall go. On the door jamb dried smears of what appears to be blood confirmed that cleaning was done inattentivly. Small ants can be seen traversing the cracks between the floor and wall in addition to the fruit flies hovering in the air. Floor was dirty with footprints of the maid or previous occupants along with some of the current ones.
Shower head is rusty with white deposits which I assume is calcium and or lime.

Bath towels were laid on the back of the toilet, the toilet seat had large crack on one side that actually split the round seat in two. Turning on the light turns on the noisey ceiling fan. Straight through to a walk in closet sits a Mini fridge and the entrance to the bathroom. From there the coaxial cable stretched 10 feet across the wall to a faceplate.

And small 26" +/- tv sat on top the dresser. Overhead on this third floor room was a loft with cut out to where a folding staircase once was and and open front. Four pillows and cylindrical throw pillow dressed up the beds.

At first glance a decent room with 2 full size beds with a nautical theme. Can a rating be negative, well it should be if you ever stayed here. After a little bad direction I locate my room. The room number can be a little confusing since every room on all 3 floors is a numbered 100-199. A left and a right and I find myself outside on the upper floor, we will come back to my hatred of this layout a little later. Off to find the room, turn around and back down the 3 steps and then up one of the two curved staircases to the 3rd floor. I was handed a set of keycard's straight from the 1980's, hard plastic with a unique grouping of holes, but on my way I went. Check in was a breeze, to what I can attribute to was prebooking the room. Make a left and up 3 small steps to main desk to check in for the night. Old wooden paneling, thick carpets, art deco furniture and decor, and the once timely oversized chandelier make it feel like you just stepped into the 1950's.
After walking past the atmosphere of smoke from the 10 people huddled around the ashtray, you enter a time warp to a once elegant lobby/lounge bar. But hey this is where they chose to celebrate so let's give it a go. Not what I was expecting for $250/night weekend rate rooms. At first glance it has moderate curb appeal. I had the displeasure of visiting this establishment for an wedding.
